Vegetables Burgers

To make the patties

  • 4 – 5 boiled potatoes and mash them.
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped,
  • Small bowl of sweet peas boiled,
  • 2 red onions, finely chopped,
  • Fresh coriander finely chopped,
  • 1 teaspoon salt,
  • ½ teaspoon green chilli paste,
  • ½ teaspoon Simba Mbili ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar,
  • ½ lemon juice,
  • cornflour about 2 tablespoons,
  • 3 serving spoons bread crumbs
  • 5 slices of white bread, cut the sides and soak in water for a minute and drain completely water and mix it with mash potatoes.

For Patties:

  • Mix all the above ingredients, add vaghar and mix again

For vaghar

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon asafoetida

Caramelised Onions:

  • 6 onions cut in rings.
  • 2 tablespoons heaped salted butter.

To assemble the burger:

  • 6 burger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 cheese slices
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 ripe tomato cut into rings
  • Caramelised onions.
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Chilli sauce
  • Heat Oil
  • Add vaghar ingridients and let them pop
  • Add the vaghar to the patties mix and mix it together well
  • Make round patties
  • Then bake or shallow fry in oil.

Caramelised Onions:

  • Heat the butter in a saucepan and add the onions. Let them cook until golden brown

 To set the burger

  • Cut the burger buns in half, butter and lightly toast them
  • Spread base of the buns with sauce/condiment of choice. Top with cheese, lettuce then tomato, then patty. Pile over with caramelised onions, then more sauce/condiments. Top with the lid of the bun. Serve immediately.
  • Serve with French fries/ chips or potato wedges
