Sticky Spare Ribs

  • 1 kg ribs
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  •  

Bbq sauce

  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons clear honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce light (but i used dark)
  • 3 tablespoons red vine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Simba Mbili mustard powder
  • 65 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ teaspoon Simba Mbili red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Place the spare ribs and red wine vinegar in a large sauce pan of salted water. Bring to boil, simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Add all the bbq sauce ingredients to pan and bring to boil. Stir occasionally. Simmer for two minutes and season with pepper.
  • Strain the ribs, place in a large container and marinate with the sauce for 2 to 3 hours or overnight.
  • Place the marinated ribs in a baking dish and bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees centigrade in an oven.
