Spicy Popcorn

- ½ cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons oil
For seasoning:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon Simba Mbili chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Simba Mbili cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon Simba Mbili turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Simba Mbili ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon Simba Mbili cumin ground
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Start by making popcorn. Take a heavy-bottomed pan with a lid. Heat oil in it, add a few kernels in and cover with a lid, heat it and allow the popcorn to pop. Once it pops you know the oil is ready. Now remove the popped corn and add the remaining corn all at once. Immediately close the lid and shake it lightly.
- Now let it heat and cook till the corns start popping. Inbetween, keep shaking the pan, and gently open the lid a little so the steam can escape and you don’t end up with soggy popcorn.
- Once the popping subsides, you can take it off the heat and set aside to cool.
- Now melt some butter and add all the spice powder, salt and sugar. Mix well.
- Now pour this over popcorn and toss gently.
- Serve hot.
