Paneer Shawarma
- Or 250 grams of paneer slabs
Marinate
- 1 ½ teaspoon Simba Mbili garlic powder
- 1 ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp Simba Mbili cumin powder
- ½ tsp Simba Mbili chilli powder or paprika (depending on how spicy you like)
- ¼ tsp all spice
- ⅛ tsp Simba Mbili tumeric powder
- ⅛ tsp Simba Mbili cinnamon powder
- Salt to taste
- ⅛ tsp Simba Mbili ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon shawarma masala
- 2 tbsp greek yoghurt
- 1 ½ tsps lemon juice (if necessary for tang)
Tahini sauce
- ¾ cup tahini sauce
- ½ cup luke warm water
- 1 tsp Simba Mbili garlic powder
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste.
Garlic youghurt sauce
- ¼ cup greek yoghurt
- 1 tbsp Simba Mbili garlic powder
- 1 to 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemons zest
Red chilli sauce
- 4 whole red caynne chillies
- 1 red onion medium size
- 4 teaspoons Simba Mbili garlic powder
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 tbsp oil
- Mix all the marinate ingredients together. Add the paneer and let marinate overnight.
- In a non-stick sauce pan, add little oil and cook the paneer slabs until its caramelised.
- Cut into strips
- Serve paneer with naan, salad, tahini sauce, garlic yoghurt sauce and red chilli sauce
Tahini sauce
- Grind all the above ingrdients and add 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Garlic yoghurt sauce
- Mix all ingredients together
Red chilli sauce
- Soak the whole red chillies in ¼ cup water for 10 minutes.
- Then add the rest of the ingredients and blend.
