Arabian cigars
- ¾ Cup micro and finely chopped almonds in a chopper
- ¾ Cup micro and finely chopped Pistachio in a chopper
- 1 ½ table spoon rose water
- 3 table spoon caster sugar
- ½ Teaspoon Simba Mbili cinnamon powder
- ½ Tea spoon Simba Mbili cardamom powder
Icing sugar for sprinkling on top.
- Mix almonds, Pistachio, rose water, caster sugar, cinnamon and cardamom in a bowl.
- To prevent fillo pastry from drying out, cover with a damp tea towel until ready to use.
- Cut 1 sheet filo into 3 wide strips. Brush each end with butter. Spoon 1 heaped teaspoon into a pile on one end of each strip, leaving a 3.3 cm border.
- Fold in sides, brush with butter at end, roll up tightly to form cigar shape.
- Pre – heat oven at 150 °C and bake until light brown. Then put icing sugar on top.
